COVID Marketing Finish Line. Who Will Be Left Standing?

There is no denying that COVID-19 has significantly altered how many companies and businesses conduct business. In most places across the country, states and local municipalities have issued “stay at home” or quarantine orders. These orders have typically closed non-essential businesses. Law firms have had to alter how they interact with clients, with most firms shifting to remote-work scenarios.

However, are you looking towards the future? What happens when restrictions begin to be lifted, and a “new normal” starts. Many businesses and law firms have slashed or eliminated their marketing budgets. While we understand that this may have seemed like a necessary move, will you be able to re-start when this is over? A better question is this – will you be able to re-start your marketing strategy before losing clients to the competition?

This is the time to strategize

If you have stopped marketing due to the coronavirus pandemic, or are considering doing so, we encourage you to think twice about that strategy. Now is the time to analyze your Google My Business (GMB) listings and work on every organic method of marketing.

Why is that the case? Wouldn’t it make more sense not to capitalize on a pandemic?

We need to be clear – this is not “taking advantage of a bad situation.” This is business survival. Every business needs to readjust in times of emergency. That is the only way to rebound and stay open. Remember, your business supports you and your family as well as your employees and their families.

What is your competition doing right now? They have either slashed their marketing, not changed a thing in their strategy, or they are planning for a successful re-start when the economy opens back up.

If your business or law firm is in the first two categories, you are going to struggle. Re-starting your marketing from zero will take time. Riding the same strategy is not going to work because, let’s face it, COVID-19 has changed everything.

A new path forward, with a smart, well-planned strategy, is going to put you on top. It will let your clients and customers know that you understand what they are going through, that you care, and that your firm is the most qualified to handle their case.
